Do any of you guys use these? I was looking at gettting some as everyday trousers but wondered how people get on with them.

I got a pair of the fs3 protects a couple of weeks ago.

Good points are:

The thorn resistance is brillant

Vents in the back of the leg work

Zips on the pockets close downwards so they can't work loose

Bad points:

The orange pocket on the right is too deep and narrow so getting things out is a pain.

Depending on how i sit in the van the vent zips dig into my thigh

I think overall if they last a couple of years i'd buy them again, but if they only last a year for the price i'll look else where

to be honest i used to but after years of abuse on my shins with glass, stone and everythink else , i soon realised my body couldnt take much more now i wear light but durable trousers.

I use B&Q chainsaw chaps if I need to pop something on when strimming nasty stuff.

I strim in shorts as i just get way to hot in heavy weight trousers if the temperature is anything over 15 degrees C.

If its easy going work i dont use any leg protection, but for heavier work i put on a pair of water proof gators, theres no shin protection as such but there thick enough to stop all but the heavier objects from hurting! they slip over my work boots and then zip and clip closed. Still get hot in them though which generally means i have atleast one dig on my shins from flying debris most weeks as invariably i opt not to put them on.
