There are some good biological car valet cleaning products (available in 5l packs) that are great and strip sap/gum/grass stains etc off gear (inc lawnmowers).
We use one (but I can't remember its name).
Most greases are available from a good motor factor and we use a little grease gun with the right size adapter to screw into the base plates etc. Massively cheaper but not as convenient as a 'toothpaste' tube of grease..
There has also been a debate/thread on LJN as to the best blade lube (WD40/Clone stuff/Silicone spray etc).
Again, this is where Stihl's crazy policy abut on-line sales falls down. Do I need to be lectured about how to use Stihl grease safely by a dealer to buy it ;-) ?
Ultimately, nothing Stihl sells in this area is 'unique' - there are normally good alternatives to be had from most Motor Factors...
Stihl are missing out on high value after sales 'consumables'... for instance we have just found some great EFCO self loading bump & go strimmer heads - beats the Stihl Autocut heads hands down
I use Toolstation for cleaning/lubricating sprays
