If you can be flexible with the design and want a simple tensioned wire system, why don't you specify galvanised steel angle/"t-section" posts and source all the stainless steel wires and swages etc. needed from a specialist marine supplier. Which ever way you look at it stainless steel is always going to be an expensive option.

2.8mm commercial 316 grade steel built to part K will cost upwards of £600 per metre designed and fitted (plus glass)
Standard pillar and rails per 1.5 metre will be approx £250 plus vat and delivery plus the glass.

Thankyou for this I should have been more specific the detail at the moment is horizontal cable wire with steel uprights.
