Did what I thought was the fair thing to when we went from self employed to PAYE 15or so years ago, but too many Mondays were taken off, so that was that!  Mysteriously the 'Monday Bug' was cured at a stroke!

SSP is paid after 4 days on the production of a certificate and we claim most of that back on our quarterly return.
