spiral cypress

Morning allHave a medium size golden cypress stuck in the middle of a client's lawn and she wants it reduced. Thought it might be fun to try and topiarize(?) it into a spiral. Any ideas on where to start, and how to finish!!! Quite happy to spend a bit of time on it - thought I'd do it with loppers and secateurs rather than trimmers, to try and get a really sharp spiral. That said, how do I keep it even?Any help greatly appreciated!!!
