scarification

Hi all after some advice if possible, have been asked by a customer to look into scarifiying his lawn which is about 1 acre. Never done anything of this size and wondered which way best to tackle it? Do i hire machinery big or small? Or can some one recommend a contact for subbing it out?

When you say one acre, is it fairly square or are there loads of beds and borders to go round?

Are you scarifying because of moss or thatch?

Whereabouts in the country is the job?

MAY be able to help depending on proximity and layout of the garden.

  • Hi Adam, it's pretty straight forward except a few trees, it needs clarifying because of thatch, never been done before in twenty years since they built the house, have been told that a some of the lawn is on clay when they built the house. Took the garden on this year and needs some work. Could supply some pictures, it's ely near Cambridge. Could do with arerating to!

Thanks Bob, pictures to anpservicesspalding@yahoo.co.uk if you have any.

What is access like to the garden (a 6ft plus big gate I am hoping...) - I assume they were looking for the work to be done later in the year - also can the waste be disposed of on site?

will get some pictures this coming week and email them to you, yes access is easy and waste is all left on site. Cheers
