Rotary laser level

Hi everyone- I am looking to upgrade my very basic laser level and wondered if anyone could recommend a good rotary one for use with a receiver, at as little cost as possible of course! If anyone has one to sell I would also be interested.

  • Are you looking for horizontal control only? There are many lasers available now that provide level, grade and also vertical control (for 90 degree layout and better, more accurate control of vertical lines, instead of string lines).

A good economical laser that allows you to do all of the above is the HV101-GCPack from Spectra Precision - it even comes in a carry case with the tripod, staff and receiver inside so its easier to store and carry around when you are on a job. • Thanks for the info Simon

The HV101 does look good, do you know how much it is? I have looked around online today and I've seen a couple of others that would be suitable for my purposes for just over £200, I only need the horizontal control versions.

  • There are lots of sub-£200 products around but you get what you pay for. Sometimes the accuracy of these products can be questionable, you can get high degrees of beam drift during the day (due to temperature fluctuation). You may be able to ask a professional dealer for reconditioned equipment that will last you longer and provide good accuracy and performance. In the UK companies such as Korec, PQS, A1 Equipment are your best bets. I am sure they will be able to meet your requirements.
