Self employment is a 24/7 thing. If you're not working you're thinking about work. If you get the chance how do you switch off?

I play (some may question this) the guitar. I put my headphones on and lose myself. 30mins perhaps but a priceless release from work work work.

I find it hard to turn of, hence this reply at 11:30 on a Sunday night. But to turn off I like to snowboard, as you have to be totally relaxed to do it you cant help yourself. A good drink is also good I like a good medium dry cyder!
Ah the joys of being single!!......well, I assume you must be lol!........ I always enjoy having a "potter" in the workshop/garage tinkering, adjusting and hopefully improving machinery..... unfortunately, I'm usually found after a short time and reminded about various unappealing jobs that need doing in the house!!

Usualy walking or climbing, I thrive on activity, phone gets turned off and I lose any thoughts of work.

I can also spend hours in my workshop maintaining and cleaning equipment and altering stuff, very few of my machines or tools are 100% standard.

Also do a lot of work on the house and for family, fitted several bathrooms, done my kitchen, loads of plastering, done a cut roof and slated a mates extension only thing i wont and cant do is lay bricks.
This made me laugh. I know just how you feel.

been out on a boat today in north-wales nr bardsey island...................... puffins , cormorants, sun, beer ,

only for 24 hrs unfortunately. !!! back to work
Guys it gets easier as they get older....the only thing is different worries. We (my 17yr old son and I) went for a practice drive this morning. "I'm doing OK aren't I Dad" as we flew around a roundabout straddling two lanes in 4th gear and then stalled at traffic lights". I've never been so glad to get home. Got my own back in the afternoon as I made him fill my trailer with about 1.5t of crappy soil from our garden.

Beer and golf, not together though.
I've had to work hard to relax as the laptop is always too close so I always stop to see who's emailed or what needs doing.

I'm off to Blighty for a couple of days to discuss the potential LJN show with Hale Events so decided to take today off (knowing that the UK was away too). Lunch in Bergerac was great and a walk around Jardiland was an experience too.

I've too much work on to relax too much but planning a little break with the family at the end of the summer and starting to do a little more gardening.

Sadly a long-term shoulder injury is slowly putting pay to golf (I used to love to play golf after a hard day at work).

Walking and photography are relaxing as is watching the wildlife here around Jean Blanc.
It's been manic for three weeks. I tried to get bank holiday off but ended up having to work. Went to a friends bar b q last night. I think it was the combination of a relaxing evening and the fact it is raining today, my body said it's time to rest and I've been sleeping all day.
Groupsex and mind bending drugs. YEAH RIGHT!! I WISH!! DREAM ON!!
Can't seem to find the time anymore to relax and enjoy the things i used to but i do know that i love what i do and i do what i love.
However, i have made it an absolute total rule that i will not work on Sundays, it's a day i have that i can see my kids. And that to me is priceless.
I find sitting with my girlfriend chatting is very relaxing and takes my mind off work.

The fishing I do is sea fishing, which tends not to be too relaxing! Started fishing when I was about 5 so I've been at it 25 years now. Spent more on fishing gear than on the business, dread to think of it getting stolen. I'm a total tackle snob and will only use very expensive tried and tested gear that should be with me when I die.

Usually involves either hitching up a boat for the day and associated maintenance/setting up/cleaning down, or hiking a few miles with some cliffs thrown in. Not to mention the trip for bait beforehand and the average length of a day's fishing at around 16 hours from leaving home to returning!

On the odd occasion I do some coarse fishing and have been doing it on and off all my life, but I cannot for the life of me find fluff-chucking interesting.
