Pledge now, donate once it is done.
Thank you
yes please, and thank you.
We will do the walk when we achieve £1,000 sponsorship for LJN. We only got the go-ahead and the route yesterday, hence our LJN post.
We would love to do it, but it is up to LJN Members.
Pledge to LJN, pledge for LJN Members walking to raise money for the best Landscaping network.
The rest, as they say, is up to you...
Brian
Since LJN began there has been an on-going discussion about who funds LJN.
Up until now, Phil Voice, has funded LJN. LJN Membership fees have frequently been discussed on the network. LJN Forums and Chat do not arrive just for free!
If you feel that is correct, that we just carry on, at Phil's expense, then fine.
On the other hand, if you like ourselves feel that we should support LJN, not just vocally, but with our pockets and efforts, then why not join us.
We personally paid almost £500 for a stand at Creating Landscapes an LJN Show last year, that was sadly not fully supported by the LJN Membership.
LJN is not a charity case, but it is invaluable to our industry, so all Members should support it, not by talking, but, by doing.
We will start the ball rolling to support LJN, £20 for the walk. Doubled when we do it.

Sounds good Steve / Tina.
I will gladly chip in.
Brian, no worries.
When Phil turns to us and says, no thanks, LJN does not need Members money to support the network, we will be overjoyed and will gladly accept his view.
To date, Phil has not done so.
After an LJN Meet-Up organised by Graeme from BGS and ourselselves at Worplesdon Place, Surrey a couple of years ago, through local contacts, LJN was not charged for the room, though LJN Members paid for it. We took the money and donated it to LJN, through the "donate" button on LJN (if you know of it?) Many other members have donated directly through in this way to LJN.
Phil Voice accepted these Members donations, and how Phil accounts for it is his business, and not ours.
To clarify, we are proposing a very simple sponsored walk, which we will do ourselves.
It is just our way, and hopefully LJN Members way of saying thank you to LJN, that's all, no other agenda.
Take part or not as you wish, thank you, if not, thank you.
Graeme, cheers and thanks.

LJN is not a charity, if members want to donate, why do they not just donate themselves. You cannot raise funds through an official sponsored walk without an official charity to receive the funds. Do you really think a member of the public would sponsor you to give their donation to a web forum business ?? . Who will be giving out the certificate of completion of the walk ??
Oh dear Brian,
to answer your points, so that you understand.
a. Please re-read our 1st post, "Once £1,000 has been pledged by LJN Members by 15th September , we will do the walk".
If not, we will not bother. Members therefore agree that LJN needs no Member funding.
b. We have the opportunity to do a sponsored walk over the weekend of 22/23rd September to raise funds for our chosen cause.
We have have choice who to walk for, we choose LJN. We call LJN funding "Professional Fees" for accountants, for it is not a charity.
c. Once £1,000 has been pledged by LJN Members by 15th September , we will do the walk, with a certificate at the end to prove that we did it.
The "certificate" comes, funnily enough, from those that have organised the walk!
d. The public are not thankfully on the whole not LJN Members, so we are not appealling to them.
Joe public on LJN, could be an issue? Joe Public reading some of the Chat comments from what Landscapers really feel about their customers. D
Don't feel that this is going to happen.
It could make fun reading for some though:-)
