sometimes the front will catch as it was set low
A stone in the roller. sometimes they get jammed.
I set mine up on damper lawns low at the front and high at the back...a notch difference between the two..I find it helps, can't see a problem for the mower on what he's done but the lawn may think different !?
No harm to the mower at all. In wet conditions it helps to have one end raised more, there's been a lot of discussion about whether you should have the front or rear higher!
Can't ever remember having the setting on it's lowest though. Might have scalped the lawn a bit.
Think I would be more worried about your operative Chris!
If the grass is longer then raise the front. It will then cut the grass twice with each revolution. Front high & back low is perfect for leaves.
