It has become like getting blood out of a stone,
what the hell is happening on lJN ????
Are you so busy on the stupid chat room that
questions on the important forum are just ignored. Yuk
I am taking a long break from LJN and will
return in the future if things change.
Thanks to all those who have responded to my
previous posts, may you all continue to be positive.
All the best
John

John - we've been friends for a good while now so I know how much value you place upon LJN.
It's a shame that your perception is that no one is looking and listening/reading ( which they are). People may not respond for various reasons ( a subject discussed ad infinitum over the years) but your posts do attract interest and add considerable value to the site.
1. This thread - 339 views
2. Composting - 119 views
3. Lawn biodiversity - 740 views (57 posts - not all yours btw:-)
4. Soil depth for seeding - 179 views
So although your not beating the respondees off with a stick not a bad set of results and positively comparable to others.
This is the way it has always been - some you win and some you don't and I wouldn't "shut up shop" and enter into a period of isolation and self flagellation just yet!
As for member losses - the nature of the beast is that the membership is and will always contain a partial transient population or others that for various reasons, personal to them, feel it is time to move on or feel they cannot gain or add any further positive contribution or have left for other reasons ( again only known to themselves). The site cannot and should not ( in reality does not) rely solely on a few individuals to keep things moving and if key players ( or call them what you will) step back they are simply opening the door for others to take up the mantle and contribute more if they wish to do so that is.
My own situation has altered since 2011 and I am in enforced ( if that's the right word) back seat mode (occasional lurker) - I've not left or am not interested but it simply, in my case, comes down to priorities.
I am one of the 339,119,740 and 179 and your probably grateful that I didn't reply anyway.;-)
Chin up fella - regards Rowly

I was sort of hoping that this post would slip under the radar into the
depths of the vaults and fall into obscurity. But no such luck :)
It was one of those Sunday morning awakenings - "Perhaps no one will
read it " - yeah right.
I can always trust you Rolloly to come out of retirement at the right time... lol
I thought you had left because everyone kept getting your name wrong.
Anyhow I can't take a back seat just yet, I have a grass/soil testing thing to
work through.
Nice to hear from you again.
All the best with your enforced back seat mode..... I didn't realise that you were
still lurking....... interesting, - might be able to have fun with that.

I hope you keep posting on here John, You always provide good discussions and have a good knowledge of the trade, as already said I think a lot of people are away from the computers with the hot weather.
Personally, I have been too knackered at nights to do anything on the computer:
Finish work, drink beer, eat tea, drink more beer, sit watching telly with half closed eyes and then bed!
That's been the routine for me recently!!
keep going John!!
Permalink Reply by John on May 29, 2012 at 7:51 Thanks Andy,
Don't worry I am far too opinionated to keep quiet for long :)
I wanted needed some answers quick and they were not forthcoming,
so obviously being slightly hot headed during the heatwave (and most other times)
I over reacted and flounced( stupid word) off........ lol
