these boxes are brilliant, can transfer boxes to new vehicles (send them back for adjustments) and the customer service is fantastic!
There are a lot of jokers and con men in the vehicle chipping game that make wildly exaggerated claims about what their products can achieve. I would go on a vehicle specific forum and see what other owners have bought and what the results were. If there is a consensus on what is the best chip then you will know your not wasting your money.
Custom mapping is all the rage now and the prices have come down considerably making it a viable alternative to just sticking a chip in and is the only way to truly get the best out of an engine. Again this is not without its pitfalls as you need to make sure the mapper knows what he is doing.
Personally on a commercial vehicle i just wouldn't bother.
If you don't declare and are involved in an accident they might not pay up!
as said before i spoke to a national /local company at a show in cheshire (an offer of 20% was on !)
they use more fuel if / as you can go faster !!! but less ONLY if you go slower than normal.........................
simplessss
looks good , but £400 will guaranteed buy 5-7% extra fuel for 2 yrs ?!!
£400 beer or meals out or holiday :)
DTUK is the best type box to go for! My van has been re-mapped by a vauxhall only tuner and its made a massive differnce in driving, my MPG is better too!
The chap who owns DTUK is very helpfull and started the box type tunning in the UK, alot of people on a vauxhall forum I use have the green box and there never seems to be any problems!

The thing that i dont understand is how they supposedly give you improved bhp AND improved economy, sureley if your getting an extra 30hp then your going to be using more fuel...no?
hi chris ,I would have it set up on a rolling road if i were you mate about £240 ish ,a good tuner can give you a nice power curve with no turbo spikes, the tune is more about more tourque as well as bhp so you run at lower revs hence the fuel saving as you dont need too rev the nuts off it
this guy knows his stuff http://www.pendleperformance.com/
i spoke to a guy at 'tyreworks' in town who has been in the trade for 30 yrs? hes met tiff nidell and has photo with him in his tyre office / foyer!
anyway he said ' its the best thing you can do to a diesel in this country ' ; as they are set-up at factory to use a broad range ie shit >best diesel................ we have average diesel in the world in the Uk, so they can be tuned better ( i didnt understand it ) ...... better ask my dad as hes been an engineer for 50yrs and knows most about diesels/tractors/generators etc tyreworks man said NOT if its got millions of miles on your clock ................... my 3.2 $hogun auto 165bhp auto has 150,000 now :(

Correct. You either get better MPG or performance but can't mix the two, if you could every manufacturer would fit as standard...
