I just don't get it, not had any calls for a couple of weeks, other than a small greenhouse repair and a bit of landscaping which I'm hesitant to do. I have seen other companies out doing lawn cut and maintenance rounds, but I'm simply not getting any. I have done leaflets, ad in local circular, all the usual.
one thing I used to do in my early days was to ALWAYS use my sign-written van to go everywhere and then park it somewhere promient (ie like by the front entrance etc). In fact, I gave up my car for some while.
We used it to go to local Supermarkets, Garden Centres, town car parks. I also used to leave some good quality flyers under the wiper blades with a 'Take Me' notice. It slowly worked. Several Clients we subsequently picked up commented they had seen our vans all over the place (given I only had one at the beginning...it worked).
Also got involved in some Charity work, that turned out to be a 'networking' opportunity, gaining a couple of wealthy clients with large houses.
I know none of this solves the 'now' problem, but while you have time try to have a long(er) term strategy - work will come to those that are good.
Had 5 calls in the last 2 days, all because my ads in paper shop windows advertise i do fencing and the other 3 or so gardeners ads dont mention this. All the jobs involve some fencing but nothing major and mainly its garden maintenance/tidy ups, so 'fencing' something maybe for people to think about getting into as it has certainly made a big difference to me so far this year!
As an update, just got a nice lawn cutting job, and have a few leads in the pipeline. Been quiet today on the website (2 visits compared to 19 yesterday) but I guess everyone was out drinking and eating in the sun like me :o)
