New scam on the block !
Parcel Delivery Scam:
You receive a card through the door from PDS (Parcel Delivery Service) saying that they missed a delivery and have to ring a premium rate number which is 0906 6611911 to get the parcel.
Do not ring it as the charge is approx £315.
Ring Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or Royal Mail Fraud on 0207 239 6655.

Thats quite some charge for one phone call
Permalink Reply by Fenlandphil on December 20, 2011 at 21:13 They could kill these phone charge scams dead by delaying the payment to the scammer until approval from the bill payer has been obtained for anything over say a £1 charge.

delivered by Royal Mail ??????

As we live in the middle of nowhere, we often get a card left by the delivery chaps, as there is noone to leave parcels with, I would have fallen for this at this time of year.
Thanks again
merry christmas
I always look up phone numbers if I have any suspicions. Never ever call 090. Use www.saynoto0870.com often.

good idea- I usually search the number online.

The problem is it is so plausible this time of the year. Everyone is aware of the many 'email' scams, but a card thru the door is more believable. We have 1 or 2 'missed' deliveries a week at the yard, it would be easy for one of the guys to just assume.....
