I wish I could sit and work on the office side of work with SOME ljn members, I personally think it would be a great wake up call, or I would just find out you are as clueless as me.

Am I the only one that hates this side of things?

No mate, your not the only one. I detest it, but its necessary unfortunatley.

What aspect of office work do you dislike and why?

If it is a lack of understanding then get the knowledge you need, either through evening classes, courses or the help of someone who understands the processes and the office enviroment.

all of it lol and i would not know were to start with evening classes

Why not sub this out ? There are many people who offer a secretary service you will not be able to get rid of it compleatly but should be able to reduce your load.

I deal with all the office side of things here, quite enjoy it really which is a bit sad I suppose!

I personally think anyone who doesn't get to grips with the office stuff will be on a sinking ship.
i have a system and all is in order, i just don't like it.

Hang on Dan one minute your clueless, the next minute you've got a system and all is in order and your in the same camp as most of us - loathe paperwork but see it as a necessary evil.

I'm confused.

I know you've mentioned this subject before and I have replied -have you got a handle on it? It's very important to understand what you are doing and your responsibilities - even if you farm the work out to someone else.

At the end of the day if we have to provide returns to HMRC or whoever  we are the ones who sign on the dotted line - it's our responsibility to know and understand what we are declaring.

If you need a wake up and answers just PM me and I'll do my best to answer them. There you go free help.

Don't stick your head in the sand and hope everything will be OK - take advice and use it wisely.

Your choice.

I married a management accountant. Simples.

She gets up at six every morning to do our books before my daughter wakes up. How's that for dedication ?
Always done it myself.  VAT registered, was a bit of a pain coming to terms with PAYE as we always used self employed labour until they clamped down on the construction industry, so we took no chances and have been in the PAYE club since.  Here's a scary thought for the day..........for every 8.25days and emploee works, they are entitled to 1 day paid holiday!
Could not have put it better myself.

I find it so strange how my text can be taken so wrongly, of course I have a system how could I run a business without it.

I merely meant I am sure there are better ways and would love to see how this is done.

I may just take you up on your offer Mr Rowley.
