New Ford Transit van shape

I ran Ford Transit vans in our fleet for a number of years. I generally found them to be very sound and reliable.

We had a long wheel-base Transit on our maintenance side and found the extra capacity very useful. The short front also made it easy to access tight driveways, helping the driver to judge where gateposts and walls were.

The new Ford Transit has an extended nose. A bit like the old fashioned bonnet.

I can see a disadvantage and potential problem, considering the obvious extra length.

Anyone have the latest shape Ford Transit?

  • I wonder if they still have the same engine noise that you could always recognise as a transit coming up the road? When i was in roofing, we could hear the lad coming back from the chippy run 2 streets away and be on the ground before he got there! Great workhorses but expensive when compared to fiat, peugeot and citreon.

Horrid looking thing, seen them out and about very poor desigh from ford, & new vivaro, the custom is a winner for design, if I was going to purchase
A new van would opt for the new boxer or ducato, very stylish & great spacious cab..
