I bought a new blade for my Pro46 a while back an decided to fit it today, but when i try and tighten up the bolt the blade still spins. If i re-fit the old blade the bolt bites nice and tight, they look identical, as they should! but the new one spins farely freely when the bolt is tight as possible.

Any ideas?

hi anthony

the washer should not be tapered.

it should go =

shear washer

blade

blade washer (big flat washer with no tapere)

spring washer

blade bolt

the  tourqe is 55nm

have a look at the solid blade waser and make sure the number 7341 is printed into it.

i will be back online from home later around 8 if your still stuck

Ok, so have been using the same blade and re-sharpening as couldnt be arsed to faff about with the new blade.

Anyway, was messing about with said new blade today and, all parts present and correct as per Neils list, when i say tapered washer, what i mean is its not entirely flat, so maybe its got a bit bent/sqaushed in the centre from over tightening in the past!

So, old blade tightens up nice and tight without crankshaft turning, new blade, crankshaft starts to turn before blade is gripped tight, Oregon Gator blade, tightens up nicely, again without crankshaft spinning!!!!!!
