Just out of interest whats the "privicy and terms" that Ian was talking about? is this a legal requirement?
The terms are standard statement of disclaimers, copyright, trademarks etc and the privacy policy, that you'll respect your potential customer's personal information by keeping it all confidential between you.
Not sure it's a legal requirement, but suggest it's a good idea to have them on your site, just in case. There's plenty of examples out there to copy and adapt, no need to hire a beak to draft 'em!

Well done for getting off your butt and doing something different. Yes the site is modern, but some things I like & I have developed some cracking (not me that says it) web sites over many years. In todays market at least yours will stand out from the crowd. I have not checked the content, which is relatively easy to change. Its interesting that people are saying that the site is a hard read, having a quick flick thro I did't get that impression. You are in a low spend market, if the customer cannot find exactly what they are looking for very quickly on your site, they will move on. I like some moving content & the revolving number at least will not have them struggling to know how to contact you. I don't like 0800 no.s personally as they represent a mobile cover to me. You are better with a mobile package that gives what it appears as a landline number to dial. You include before and after photos which is the best advert you can ever get, if you can achieve the before fading into the after, that is a pleasing way for the customer to view your work without blowing their mind. Just remember, know one can predict what will be successful until it is successful. Give it a go & constantly monitor it & dont be afraid to keep asking for opinions.
Good luck

If you set up this website Craig, then you must be able to set up a
plain boring website that doesn't move.
Answer is in the intial post.... i like the flashes and added effects

Craig just a little question but why decide to go with a flash website, instead of a standard website ?
Thanks Mick, however it would take more than a comment on a web site to reduce me to tears, and a bit of constructive criticism would have been more helpful.

Craig I was going to post a comment saying it the way it is but I did not want to reduce a grown man to tears so I have decided to refrain from posting it
Dont think i agree with the phrase "To jazzy for our industry" who said gardneres have to be boring?

Sorry mate I have to agree with the other guys. To jazzy for our industry. Also no site should have a enter page. Its the first thing to put people off.
Thanks for all the comments on the web site, some a bit more helpful than others. I feel that a new design is always going to have a wide range of opinions, I have decided to leave the site as is for now and get feedback from customers who I meet throughout the coming year. I will make the odd change that people have mentioned, the juice logo and spinning phone number etc, I will also be visiting other people web sites to see what sort of content is missing from mine as someone mentioned it is missing content?? I thought I told people what we do and what were about, without blabbering on for days about cutting grass.
Permalink Reply by Colin Hunt on February 26, 2012 at 10:29 Back to the drawing board I reckon mate, the gardening world isnt ready for your 'all singing, dancing, ringing, spinning, flashing' website. Took too long for the pages to come up, but that could have been my system - I dont understand these things.
Keep it simple with a nice homepage and attractive design, not too many words, but enough to get your point across and example pics need to impress. Dont like 0800 numbers.
Boring I know, but you are targeting the older generation(of which I am one!) and your site made me dizzy!
I think he means it's like looking at a pinball machine!

Its funny you cay not to many words, one of the prefious comments say there is not enough content in it? I think he was just being "picky"
Permalink Reply by Colin Hunt on February 26, 2012 at 10:51 This is the problem with asking for people's opinions - we are all different. Some will just move on and others will reply with a constructive comment, an encouraging comment, a negative comment or even a sarcastic comment. I tell you what Craig, I wouldnt even know where to start when designing a website so you are one step up on me for a start!
I reiterate - keep it simple, clear and easy to read/understand.
