The brush cutter self sharpening scissor head looks very favourable
(Check out the you tube video )
I will be asking my dealer if they have considered stocking it ! A blade that does not throw the debris is very appealing after a mishap with a corded head through gravel into a patio door resulting in my first ever claim on my liability insurance
Neil Petrie thanks for this lead I'm very keen to follow this lead up
(Maruyama landscape blade LB30)
Ok, call me ignorant or stupid, but following links from this I find several machines feature 'reverse start', both hedgetrimmers and brushcutters.
I haven't a baldy notion what this means....can anyone enlighten me?
Cobra Power tools are a brand badge put onto Mauyama and are availble quite widely, I considered one ealrier this year as a local dealer sells them - They seem fine, quite light, and otherwise pretty standard, were same price as a Makita So I went for the known brand to me.
David, I can't see any connection with Maruyama and Cobra Power Tools at all; but maybe Mauyama!
They made a 'big' showing at SALTEX last year, especially the innovative strimmer head (would love to see that as a 'Stihl' attachment ;-)....
Controls/cables/choke/air filter/switches etc were not as 'streamlined' as found on Stihl's etc but was reflected by the price difference.
Furthermore the warranty appears to be linked to a dealer provided maintenance programme.. Which I would deduce means spending £X on an annual service irrespective if the machine requires it or the fact that most of the maintenance is routinely carried out by many of us throughout the year.
I would speculate the total spend required for a 5 years dealer maintenance programme would not make the purchase so attractive.
