Logs wanted

Wonder if any of you can help me, hopefully someone in the north west,

 

When on holiday in september I saw some homemade garden furniture made from logs, and I want to make some for myself, I saw this stuff last year and forgot to photo it , so this year I took some pics so I would have more of an idea of how to make it, problem is I dont do treework, so i need someone to supply me with the logs, without an exhorbitant cost.

Probably a 6ft length of about 15-18inch which needs sawing down the middle, cleanly.,

a 6ft length of 12inch,

and some 6-8 inch stuff .

 

not sure what wood would be the best for this project, ie less prone to splitting. I am going to treat it so hopefully it will be sealed from the weather.
