Nothing, other than perhaps a carb clean and set, would be my guess. You're doing the important things already!
Clean the bag is the only other thing, to keep the airflow good.
To be honest, very little. It might be worth checking any control cables for fraying, drive belt for damage/wear (if it has a belt?)Front wheel bearings might be worth greasing and check for play in the bearings for the rear roller. If its running ok, I really wouldn't bother and save your cash. Sometimes the simple mowers like your Izy are the best bet for domestic garden maintenance in my opinion..... they're light, cheap, and so simple, there's little to go wrong.
i suspected as much. Will save my money then
Thanks for the help
does it have a fuel filter and do you already sharpen the blade?
the carb clean is not to be sniffed at, especially if it sits for periods in the winter with fuel in the carb, mine needed a good clean recently due to neglect - mind you, it cost me a few quid to get it done........
I'm sure a carb clean is not included in a service..... I've never seen it on any scheduled maintenance...... fuel filters, yes, though I've yet to find one that was blocked. At the end of the season, its worth however draining the carb of fuel as it can evaporate and leave a residue which can block the jets. There's usually a drain screw at the bottom.
How much do you expect to pay for the annual typical end of year service?
We tend to fix most things in house, including carb cleaning (all you need is an airline) and have never really justified how it can cost £100+ to service a mower. I've paid someone less to do a basic service on my car!!
We use dealers reactively rather then proactively when it comes to things when we can't fix them ourselves. We do also however try and give them things when they are quieter (post Christmas) - ie I've an old Hayter which I needs a new engine and will drop that to the dealers in January.
The Honda Izy is indeed a very light machine and i have one (21"). It is so light i can often mow a lawn without engaging the drive.
Apart from what others have said i would ensure that the deck is kept clean as they are thin steel and will rot through easily if grass is left in them. There are no roller Izy mowers so it must be a 4 wheel. I would check the drive wheel mechanism as sometimes mine will jam up when trying to pull backwards.
