This is my latest project, been after one for a while.

Didn't run when i got it, but the fuel tank appeared to be full of what can only be described as thinners, cleaned all that out, put some petrol in and the monster awoke!

I'll gather parts through the summer and i will probably set about it through the winter.

Good work boy, did you find thet getting the carb off from the petrol tank a pain the the backside?  i found on my the filter at the end of the tube is very tight in the hole.  If you need any original pictures or specs let me know.  Little tip if your not after a pure original, but a good worker, drill out the rivets on the disc and replace it with a blade far better cut.

Hey, thanks Matthew,

The carb came off ok on this, it was a tight fit with the filter but it went through.

I'm trying to keep it as original as possible,

I'll PM you about some info, cheers mate much appreciated,

Andy.

we converted the 2 condors we have in to snow ploughs last winter then back to mowers in the spring. they have bags of power and grip. pushed lots of snow with a 1 meter wide plough on the front.. great machines shame that the parts are getting harder to find..

This link should give a good idea of the colour scheme used on these machines

Thanks for that Matthew, great help,

I can see the colour scheme now, I had read that the Briggs engines were always black which puzzled me because i didn't find any black paint on the engine when i stripped the paint.

Now I see that It was red.  I have had an e-mail today from Briggs and Stratton, they inform me that the engine colour is called "American Red",

Also I see in the picture that the rear wheels are white, I assumed they were red.

I'm in awe of you mate and would love to have the time (and inclination!) to do the same. I've got a monster Bomford twin engined thing, a JAP engine from a Howard Gem, some Condor bits etc lying around that need a good home.

Nice ride Andy !!! :)))

Thanks Colin,

I'd like a condor but the only access to my yard and shed is through a standard door sized passage way so i'm kind of limited,

I'm coming in from work and going out to the workshop until about 8.30/9.00 when the other half shouts me in,

I needed something else to do instead of sitting in front of this bloody computer every night!!!

hi, you alright boy?  i've juist broke the clutch on mine so i'll strip it down and post all the photos on here for you.  You can still get the parts the clutch sprocket is £60 plus abit more for the drive chain, rubber retaining belt and the drive belts, prob about £100 all in.

I never asked before is yours the 24" osprey or the 21" twenty one?

sorry just looked at the engine, 5hp so must be a twenty one, the osprey had the 7hp motor

Hello matthew,

Only just seen you post, sorry about that, would appreciate the pics thanks for future reference.

Not been doing much with it lately, Still trying to find paint, plus my wedding is creeping up fast and have had to do decorating and other stuff under orders. Still there's no rush.

Cheers mate.
