Landscape gardener

Are you a landscape gardener looking for a new and exciting challenge?  Founded this year, Streetscape provides high quality landscape gardening services and offers apprenticeships to young people (18-25 years) who are long-term unemployed, equipping them with the skills to secure and remain in employment.

We are looking for a landscape gardener to lead our first team of apprentices, starting June 2011, initially for a year.

Candidates will have significant experience in landscape gardening, but also a passion for working with young people. Excitingly, you will also be integrally involved in helping to develop Streetscape and test new ideas... For more info see: www.streetscape.org.uk.

  • Hi James,

We fully support this type of initiative. We are a social enterprise landscape gardening company ourselves. We're proud to have trained 2 young long term unemployed young men for the last 6 months (one of whom has a reading age of 9). Both have done fantastically well. Their work ethic, attitude, enthusiasm and willingess to learn is exemplary. We are delighted to have been able to offer one an apprenticeship and continue to seek a way to offer the same to the second.

Good fortune to all in Streetscape!

  • James,

Great initiative. Really great initiative. But I'm going to be ever so slightly disingenious here - you say you are providing 'high quality landscape gardening services'....I'm kind of wondering how that works when you're advertising for your first team leader? It's taken me about 20 years to make the same claim...

  • Dave, predominantly by recruiting someone like you... interested?
