Looked totally unsuitable for domestic lawns, more designed for bunker edging on golf courses.
Edging shears once or twice a year to get a good line, then just very csreful, low-speed strimming every week is fine.
Or use your stimmer
A very handy tool, with limited use. Works well on existing edges that need 'sharpening up'. Not really suitable for every week edging, you'll end up with no lawn. Can't beat an edger, line and board for straight edges.
We are VERY fussy about our edges and still use a edging shears. Can anyone recommend a swivel head lightweight strimmer do do the job?
I've got a swivel head petrol strimmer, its a "partner" make, & was a 2nd hand purchase about 20yrs ago.

Colin, i use a honda 4 stroke bent shaft strimmer, model number ums425 for edging, its very good.
I also now use a "mutt" to sharpen the edges instead of a half moon where I want a deep edge. Seems to work well. As a side point the mutt is one of the most versatile tools I have a bargain for £20 or so cheers Richard
