New on here and thought it would be good to introduce myself and our company Central Cropsprayers Ltd (Shropshire) who supply knapsack sprayers throughout the uk.

i have been in this work for 20 years so would like to help any of you out with questions or queries that you may have on knapsacks from Cooper Pegler to Berthoud and anything else connected with spraying in general.

Thanks

Chris

One question Chris - how do you pronounce your surname? ;)
I'd have a stab at  Bowie as in David..

cigar yes, but not in a public place, it is banned don't you know?

Hi Chris

I have probably been buying the wrong knapsack set up lol but do your sprayers come with brass or metal lances?

I ask because every one I've purchased has a plastic lance which breaks within a week.

Saying that I guess I have purchased from the cheaper end of the market.

Many Thanks

Hi Marc,

Most of the manufactures have gone away from the brass lances due to cost. The Birchmeier Iris sprayer still has a brass lance and part brass trigger mechanism and is a very good product.

Both cooper Pegler and Berthoud use a plastic lance and trigger now of which the CP is far and away the best for durability and reliability although they only supply a standard 0.5M lance with the kit v the Berthoud which has a neat extendable 0.5M-1M lance.

I would warn away anybody purchasing the cheap machines purely on a spares basis as to me that’s the key issue with any product.

what about the chapin sprayers chris are they any good. they look good they do one with a brass trigger and lance and comfort straps chapin tree/turf pro
