Nope - KM55 is not worth £100 in working condition.... They are no where near powerful enough for the 135deg cutter attachment... I've tried... youl just stall the engine all the time cutting tough material.
Infact If go so far as to say the person selling you the KM55R is pushing their luck.
A Brand new KM56R The newer version of the 8+year old engine your mentioning, is about £190..... so £230 for an out of date old worn machine is far too steep.

If you want to spend £230 on a KM56R let m know! I'd send mine for that!
Or get the professional engines which will last for years instead of a few months.

I also run the km130r and hedge cutter combo, can't fault it. I wouldn't be without the power of it.
hahaha Harry....love the 'just in case' with the KM90 anecdote :->
Know the feeling!
The KM130 is a powerhorse, it does everything I ask it to and probably more than I should ask it to do too. But it is there, in the back of a vehicle and everytime it powers up it completes the job required. Best investment (at least one of them) ever made.
NEW back up's are planned for purchase as the price becomes attractive (ie. Autumn). IMO you can't go wrong buying new. If you buy second hand......always a quandary imo.
To quote my long lost Mum......''Eugene...don't buy any old shit!!!''.
Good advice :-;

PS - Harry....a new avatar noticed over 'ere...like it :->
I run two 90's. They won't quite cut through something the thickness of the hedgetrimmer teeth gap, and 3mm 2 head doesn't hit max RPM until it's worn down 10-15% and the polesaw is a bit slow but then it's a polesaw and really I should just get the chainsaw out half the time. I can't really see too much benefit of the higher powered engines other than for strimming/brushcutting but I have a 460 for that which is far better than a 130 so for me a bigger engine isn't worth it.
