brought a second hand 80 today, MKHP 310 hrs on clock want to get it fully serviced up, can anyone tell me whats involed apart from the norm, ie  spark plug, oil, oil filter, petrol filter and air filter, anything else, first ride on so not sure thanks.

You need to join the Etesia group Mark, first and foremost ( if you haven't already).

 

Then wait for a reply from Neil Barker, our resident Etesia man, who'll give you the heads up of what is required to fully and correctly maintain your new purchase.

Just blade sharpening, charge the battery, all the usual I guess. Check the tyres are pumped up, and most importantly make sure the horn works!

 

Just found out the guy I bought mine from had too small a battery in it so picking up the new one today.

hi, i'd ask neil as rowly says as there could be lots of grease nipples and they may be hidden.

Could be worth  changing the belts, if the drive belt lets go you will be stranded and have a real nightmare trying to get it back to your stores. Its easier to leave it where it is, go and get another belt and fit it in situ.

 

Others may disagree but i'm not a big changer of spark plugs if the old one is working just fine. Yes they are only a couple of quid but times this by umpteen different machines and the cost starts to add up. Keep spares in the van though.

Fuel filters are a must with the amount of crap that ends up in a gardeners jerry cans.

i would of been on befor now but been breaking my back at the stables moveing 20 round bales of hay (oh the joy)

 

on you question mark the only other thing's really you need to look at are the transmission and grease points as matt has pointed out,

 

the transmission oil on all bahias and h80 mowers is now a standard 10 w 40 oil (i think around 2L but will make sure monday for the h80) so theres no need to be trying to find 2 oils for engine and axle.

 

the next is grease points= the only ones realy on these mowers is on the front axle where the stub axle inserts into it there is a nipple for each side but this should be packed any way but always worth a check.

 

apart from that there is just you normal engine maintance and filters etc and the paper inline filter is always worth a change after a season of work just to keep things fresh.
