Hot metal

was replacing some fence panels for a client today, & I've found that the best way for me anyway is to cut through the old nails/screws with an angle grinder, then take out the old panels & put in the new ones.
I noticed there was some extra screws in the post with just the heads showing & as I was cutting off the last one it shot down the open neck of my polo shirt, I did a little dance while trying to pull the shirt out from my trousers, much to the amusement of my labourer, it was hot, so hot it burnt my 6 pack....

  • Something similar happened to me today only with a thorny rose !! :D

  • My sympathies, Robert. Nothing worse than warm beer.

  • We use a reciprocating saw to do the same thing as the metal do sent get so hot and you also don't get bits of me to flying about or burn marks on the posts.
  • I just use a hacksaw blade with one of those "handles" that just holds it at one end.

  • I second this. Works well when you have to take a nailed in panels out to access the job site and out it back after.
