Hayter harrier pro

Hey all, have got 2 hayter harrier pro's (silver) both seem to have low output. I Think some brambles or something might have got under the front left hand side and damaged something but I can't see anything. Has anyone else had this problem or know what it might be??? Thanks

  • Check the governor spring
  • Thanks Graeme, replaced that and it still lacks the full power it had. It still cuts ok at the moment as it's dry etc but sounds like its about half the power it should be. Trouble is it's the guys that help me that abuse it!

Has the spring gone back in the same holes on the governor or has the lever moved/bent? You can reset them...Have you a digi tacho you can use to check engine speed (cheap from Amazon/ebay)?

  • Funnily enough I looked in the showroom the other day and it looked as if the lever on mine was bent forward compared with the brand new ones so I bent mine back a bit. It's a bit better but lacking the grunt it used to have. How do u reset?? Tganks
