taking into account what Steve has advised I would say that no private evaluation is going to prove worthwhile in such a short period.
3 years ago I purchased a Sarp (Kaaz) mower, thought it was great at first but then things started to go wrong, would never buy another. This year I have a new Viking mower made by Stihl, so far great. Been used all day every working day (wet and dry) for the past 4 weeks but will I still be saying that after another 25 weeks of the same use?
I would certainly offer up an opinion at the end of the year but at the moment it would not like to recommend any one to take the plunge on such a short trial. Got my fingers and toes crossed though.
Hi Gordon, totally agree an initial view of something is going to be good, only time will tell if something is reliable.
I really hope hayter have sorted out the problems they have had, so many dealers have dropped selling hayters.
My advise is the same as what I stated when the 56 PRO was showcased at Saltex. Give it a wide berth.
The fixed drive speed is far to low if you are working to a tight schedule and by all accounts it could add an extra hour or so to your working day or less cuts!
You can crank up the revs a bit to speed it up slightly but remember to reset it when you return it back to the dealer!
Quite a few have encountered failures and have been returned for repairs.
Collection is slightly better but not to the standard of the older 56's. Nice and easy to start first pull.
However if you have a few large contracts and are happy mowing away without being too worried on time it is a nice tidy machine.
