Showers today....but still got out and took down a broken limb from a very large Eucalyptus Tree, leaf clearance, then onto another job for a tidy up..I know it's getting cooler because as the sun starts to go I have to tuck me T shirt into my trousers to stop the cold breeze from whistling up my back !

Had a few xmas cards from customers..got a fiver tip yesterday and a bottle of champers today ;-)
I have just realised that this can run forever.
Took the truck to a Totnes garage to get a strange noise coming from the wheel checked out, changed the brake pads and put in a new switch for the air blower? . Drove down the road to find I still had the same funny noise coming from the wheel.
On closer inspection it turned out to be the wheel bearings, so back there again on Monday afternoon.
The brake pads were nearly worn out and at least I can now see where I am going on a misty morning.

He is in the same boat as everyone else at the moment with the economic recession, whereas before, they had a steady stream of custom, now it is quiet one week and booked out the next. The interesting thing is hearing about all his new advertising ventures in the local papers etc, and how he has tied it in with his parts suppliers to share the advert' page.
It seems that the credit crunch has made everyone develop new strategies and find new skills.

He is now going to consider a web page, but will check out the Google alerts first, to see if it is worth it.

Fencing for the best part of the day.....then cutting logs for home just got it done before the light went....

No rest for the wicked !!!

Does make the beer taste good though at the end of a hard day ;-)
Since I still only have a temporary mesh panel fence at back over opening in wall and had couple of suspicious looking guys around so about to electrify it with old van battery. Boy, would I love to see them try...!!

i have just bought yet another pair of gloves ! 6th this year?! these are to keep my hands warm and wind proof though. !!
Been paving today, more paving tomorrow. Snow-boarding/tobogan/nordic skiing or lugge on Thursday!
Done 2 stints today 1st stint 9-4 presure washing second stint 5-9 gritting! tomorow probaly off if it snows as predicted!
Supposed to be fininshed now til Jan. But was going to plant roses for a client I built a trellis for earlier. Rained off today, and snow forecast for tmrw. Oh Well, its heating on, Radio 5 live, and a book on the sofa with the cat again.
Started laying paving in light rain this morning, laid some, made a mess, tidied up and sacked it off early.

Moral of the story - don't force ones-self to work in the rain, do something else inside instead!
