Doesn't sound very practical as it would protrude from the bottom of the hedgecutter and consequently get easily damaged. Reckon you'd have to drill the present "plug' and tap the hole to take the nipple.
Grease nipples have a tapered thread. Why go to all the trouble when the Stihl grease tube just screws into the existing hole?
Thanks for replying Geoff, I'd thought about that, but would like to give them a go. Don't have the tools to tap it myself. I have previously seen them for sale on ebay but they were to expensive. I've been to a couple of local dealers(agriculture supplies & lawn mowers) but none have one that fits.
Guess i'll just have to keep searching.

The Stihl stuff is an expensive option.
I do the same as Gary.
Wouldn't a grease nipple just get too dirty (and then need to be cleaned otherwise you'd be putting dirt into the grease chamber) Maybe it'll be alright for a hedgetrimmer but I don't see it working for a strimmer.
Thanks for the advice. Phil Crossly, I think the stihl grease is expensive. I currently remove the base plate & fill the area with grease.
