We're rapidly depleting our stock of Glyphosate and need to order more. Until now, we have always Pro Biactiv or Hi Activ as I prefer the strength, stickability and the 1 hr rain-fast which seems to make sense. However, the price difference between the top end products and the basic product is growing.

So, who uses what product, why and do you find it effective ?

I use Clinic ace, Glyphosate, widely available and affordable, I only spray on days where no rain is expected so don't need the Stickability. For wetting agent I've always just used a small amount of washing up liquid. Always had good results with most plants dying on first application.
We use Gallup hi activ as our main spot weed killer, great results at low dosage, cheap and with results showing on grass within a fortnight a great product.

The only downside is that it's not great on mares tail.
Still on my first five litres of pro biactive 360. Marvellous stuff and im getting the same next time.
I use the rosate glyphosate from ALS, about 20L used this season so far. No complaints at all, kills weeds as it is meant to! Never had a poor result.

What's interesting is the price range for these products. Not counting account or quantity discounts the list price for the basic product is ~ £25 / 5L. For the 360 or 450 Pro Biactiv it's nearer £60.

We get thru a resonable amount as we have a strict spraying regime/requirement at a lot of commercial sites (esp Ind Estates). We probably go thru 10-15L per month.

Anyone prepared to put up their purchase prices for comparison ?

Green Tech:

Single item purchase - basic £27/5L

Single item purchase - Pro Biactive £52/5L

+ p&p

pro biactive 360 it does what it say's it will do.apply then job done

£45.68inc for RU Biactive 360gl

£55.09inc for RU Biactive 450gl

The 450 works out at £2 cheaper per 5l when you take the concentration into account.

Delivery is free for orders over £75 ex VAT.

I'd better get some more on Monday before you lot buy it all! ;)

BTW 10% off for  trade too!

Andy

Try JFC Monro, amenity Glyphsosate.  Have delivery due next week  of 2 x 5L at £35 ish ex vat per 5 Litres.

Know others that have used it, and it is on that recommendation that we have ordered it.  Half the price of the branded product.

Hope things are still going well, take care.

Roundup biactive.

It works. I'd rather pay more for something that I know works than have to go back to repeat the job.

The price is not an issue as I make a good mark up on spraying.

Paul,

No worries.

Our product was suggested from a fellow Grower that has a 7 acre Nursery.  We visited them yesterday, well us and 6 other growers, it was spotless and weedfree.

We only have only 3 acres to maintain. So at ½ price of the branded product, well okay yes, having seen the results!

If we all argreed it could get be pretty boring.
