Getting more Customers

Hi there wondered if anyone can help

Ive been in the business 2 years now. My work consists of garden maintenance of residential blocks of flats and estates.  And i also have a few domestic customers too.

I am trying to gain more work/ get bigger/ more customers by advertising.  I`ve tryed yellow pages and found that terrible. i tryed putting adverts in the windows of news agents and found that terrible also.

Can people please tell me what form of advertising works for them?

And apart from word of mouth how do you get more customers?

For example:  Does leaflet delivery work?

Thanks alot

Steve

  • i was out leaflet dropping today and have to do 2 quotes tomorrow.
This time of year is perfect as people want their garden looking nice as the days are longer but don't want to do it themselves as its still too cold.
I'd say leaflets are pretty good also advertise on google.
  • Thanks matt thats usefall info to know.
I found a leaflet company who will design and make the leaflet for £60 for a 1000. I thought that was quite a good price
    thanks again

  • PRO
You have to pay in the large sheds, but many local garden centres and nurseries have boards where they are happy to help advertise local businesses.

After all, they hope you come back and buy plants & materials for your jobs (of course after agreeing trade prices ;-))

At the end of the day if you don't ask you don't get .....
  • Look around..can do better than that.. where i am 10,000..full gloss and Design £99 A6 size and £24 for them to do all the design work..
