Can I avail myself of the collective expertise of you wonderful people.

I am suffering from a large quantity of what I suppose are toadstools in my back lawn, can you give me advice on a quick and lasting solution to my problem. They seem to be killing off the grass in the area they are growing.

Thanks in anticipation.

There are no licensed products as far as I am aware for the removal of toadstools/mushrooms  in a lawn however wall paper paste contains a  fungicide and toadstools etc are fungus.

As a rule they will die back, are not harmful to the lawn, your lawn your choice.

Do the toadstools/mushrooms seem to appear in circles? Or are they random? If they are in circles I'm afraid it is a disease called fairy rings and unfortunately there is no fix other than digging out the affected turf and a good depth of soil and replacing.
For other fungal diseases there is a product called chipco green, which may do the trick.
If its not too severe I would suggest just living with them and either picking them off or mowing over them. Feed, aerate and scarify at the right times.

Thank you Martin and Tom.

The fungii is growing in a large arc, is the chipco green easily available?

Chipco green is easy to get hold of via pitch care, I have in the past used armillatox not sure if I have spelt it right! on fairy rings and fungus where clients compliained about them, not sure if I controlled them or they went as part of their natural cycle!

Thanks Tim

It does sound like fairy rings. There's no known cure so I think you must have been lucky with armillatox. It is fantastic for controlling box blight though.
We use pitch care .com too, its pretty good.
It's all about Armillatox. See the international website for off the record 'off label' uses.
