Bloody career politicians I hate em

  • We both think the same Chris. It's a shame that John (will not post his surname) who pasted and then deleted lots of good points there John, a shame that you felt you had to delete. If it matters I feel just the same way, if you are ever in Cheshire give me a call, stay the night I guarantee you good food and if you drink good booze and hopefully good conversation, likewise Chris anytime it's a small world and good people are hard to meet but when you do the world is a better place.

  • cheers Rich

  • Hi John

I think it's worse that you thought that no one would be interested in what you thought...for me the most interesting thing about the Internet is that you find find people with passionate views, sometimes opposed (not including the media/politicians...all of whom who have an agenda). But I tend to find that whilst some people have a differing opinion, most are good people, willing to listen and respond to other peoples ideas and views even if they do not agree.

Yours were forceful said and you should be proud that you said what you meant, despite what others might think, your comments matter and there are lots of good people on this forum, whilst we may not all agree on all topics, people are prepared to try to understand other people points of view, which is rare on forums (I should know I've been on many).

Personally I hate and despise what the EU has become, a play ground for a few elite to pluck, manipulate and earn huge sums from for their own gain at everyone else's expense. In short I hope it all crumbles and disintegrates into a pile of ashes and then we can slowly go back to being different nations and proud to be British, French, German...with all the stupid little quirks that we have and that make us a little bit different but places that we as humans want to be for whatever reason and to continue to trade as we used to without the disgusting parasites that are currently preying upon the EU as their personal get rich quick agenda laden playground.

Hi sorry Richard, didn't think anyone would be interested so I deleted! oops...

Thanks for your kind words though, its a great shame the state the country is in at the moment!

  • ukip perhaps 9% support, with a strong headwind :-)

So, 91% support Britain in Europe!

So lets trade with New Zealand or Australia say ukip, madness! They have not heard yet of the Asian market, but ukip do not do economics, it just does nationalism.

Lets not faff around any longer, bring on full European intrigration, rather than us playing about on the sidelines.   To run the risk of losing over 50% of our overseas trade with Europe in this current climate is just bonkers, but then, so is ukip.

Just imagine ukip telling exporters, sorry if we are elected you will lose your European markets.  For this reason, business does not support ukip.

ukip is the friendly face of the BNP (if there is one).  We all know what they stand for, and the fascists lost in 1945, since when, we have had a united Europe for the first time in living memory.

Europe is good for business. Many plants in the UK are imported from Holland, Italy, France, Spain and so on.  Those that import pay those "nice friendly banks" fees to exchange our money, and so you the customer pay for this fee, so pay the dodgy banks.

It's okay that the "9%" have a say, but do your own research, how are these 9% funded?  Their MEP's appear happy to accept European money, and European expenses?

ukip MEP's, do as I say, not as I do, perhaps, Germany 1930's all over again?  Thanks, but no thanks ukip, Europe has moved on from petty nationalism.

  • Ah yes those well known left-wingers, Thatcher signed the Single European Act and set about under "little John" the Maastricht Treaty for the "Free movement of Capital and Labour".

    isn't history great.

that is a shocking thing to say-

It is also what the Left has been saying for the last 10 years- anyone who questions unfettered immigration or who holds a euro-skeptic position is by extension a racist.

    =ugly politics

  • Paul,

Think that you should know by now, I do politics as a second living, it's my job to know what others think.   Local Council elections Candidate twice, Prospective Parliamentary Candidate, very close, once.  In the future, who knows.

The "right" have a majority in the EU at present, so if you oppose what they do, as business does, vote them out next time is the answer.

    Paul @ PPCH Services said:

Steve, You speak as someone who  does not actually know UKIP's policies.

I know a fair bit of both BNP, UkIP and indeed the conservative party and UKIP is neither of these nor does it need to be.

We are being strangled by bureaucracy redtape and nonsense from Europe, Take the new trailer laws that have just been sneakily brought in, BPD etc etc ...... all legislation from europe that affects us yet we have no say upon.

  • voting in their droves, 9%

ha ha, ha ha ha bloody ha

    great joke, thank you

next thing you will tell us is farage is training to become a pilot

sorry, must go, can't stop laughing

  • So the tories are euro sceptic, think not,  dodgy maybe, and perhaps what the original post was about?

The tories under thatcher signed the Single European Act, and under major signed the Maastricht Treaty, for the free movement of capital and labour within the EU.

In simple terms, as these appear to be required, these treaties mean that anyone can work anwhere in Europe and move their money to support them.  Just look at Philip Voice running a UK business, and living in France would ukip stop him?

So it was the tories that opened mass migration, and signed us up for what we now have now,  to set the record straight.

The tories would never leave the EU as big business which funds their party, they would lose key markets.  Yes they have a few, or perhaps many loonies on the right who wish to, but it would be for them like turkeys voting for Xmas.

Angela Merkel and Nicholas Sarkosy are also right wing tories, and they want the EU to work.

So, in financial terms, 45% minus 36% equals 9%, although 6% for ukip at the last opinion poll, oops sorry, just lost 30% of it's support.

Hannan is to my knowledge not a ukip MEP, though he excells at being a prat.  If he has switched to the "history boys" please let me know.

    2009 European election results 1st Con 27.7 2nd UKIP 16.5% followed by Labour 15.7 LIB DEMs 13.7.

I was clearly referring to EU elections and MEPs,  Hannan, Farage etc please explain how UKIP coming from nowhere to 2nd in a generation is not 'voting in their droves'..?

    edit:

-Not to mention the fact that at the 2010 general election

the broadly euro skeptic parties - CON 36% + UKIP 9% actually equals 45%

  • While I am shocked at the sheer numbers just to raise a couple of points:

    1. It is not only political parties that use free interns. Public services, and councils use them as do some businesses.

    2. It is not just rich kids which take up such appointments. It does have its attractions for poor kids as well.

I was recently talking to an intern with a council in the North West. She had finished university and as she said if she had not offered to do the job free she probably wouldn't have got the job and would have had to return to Scotland to join the unemployment queue with the rest of her family.

While she would have liked to been paid the internship gave her the opportunity to get some work experience while using what she had learned at university. It provided her with additional training, and the conference which I met her in London was fully paid for by the council. Being an intern she had access to all the paid jobs in the council, including those advertised internally only. Although sadly with all the cuts there are far fewer opportunities.

The reason for her being at the conference was research for a report she had been asked to produce to show ways for the council to make better gains with less money. While not related to the conference I did take the time to promote TMOs including the many extra values that they provide, and left with her several leads on how to get more information.

    Returning to the topic:

For her the opportunity to get a year's experience and a much needed job reference to help her get a paid job.  The realistic alternative was to go home and probably remain unemployed for a year or more with no work experience.

I have to admit that it did make me think if this is something I should do, write to employers offering to work for free or at minimum wage just so I can get into work and get the relevant experience that I am missing and keeps losing me the job. Though it seems I'm a lot happier to work for minimum wage then the job centre staff who keeps skipping or dismissing jobs on my behalf because they 'do not pay enough'.
