Thanks Dan for giving us the heads up on this.... I wasn't aware of this news. Will need to check out.
Thanks for this, are their any free accounts out their. Dont need overdraft or to borrow just to keep my money safe.
I had heard this and checked my correspondance and I don't seem to have had anything letting me know, and couldn't find anything online - it's weird. £7.50/month is not acceptable! Will definitely look elsewhere if this happens.
Seem's a little strange of them to suddenly do this and upset their entire business banking market. Or is it just me?
I think you will find the FSB/Co-Op tie up is free for 'life' as long as you remain an FSB member:

Are you with them if so can you recommend them ?
As it stands at the moment - yes.
The Charge Card is a very, very useful feature and helps cashflow massively. NOTE it is not a Credit Card before anyone comments about not wanting credit etc.
However, when and if they absorb the several hundred LTSB branches into their systems/customer service then it may be different. This, in my view, was one of the downfalls of Santander when they absorbed Abbey Nat and A&L branches...they were just overwelmed, incompatiable systems, different business philosphies etc etc

Took out £3200 cash from my HSBC Business account to purchase a piece of second hand machinery and have found out today they have charged me an £80 fee for doing this. Cant believe they can get away with charging so much for this. Going to send them a letter as they never mentioned there would be this fee, although have now read their small print stating the charge. Takes the p**s really!
Thanks, this is news to me and I also have not had a letter from them, although I did some quick figures as we keep a healthy balace in our business account even with the fee being paid we might be better off as they are putting the interest rate up although I don't know all the details as my letter is lost somewhere!
