A few of my gardens are looked after by a franchised lawn company. They now have started to aerate and scarify all lawns which I do at the very end of febuary.

My question is when it comes to sticking by the unofficial gardening rule book will you break a few rules to be one step ahead.

I have, and I've started to treat my lawns before they take anymore work off me.

They will not tidy up after hollow tine or scarification! Bet they will go for an uplift and charge an arm and a leg for wetting agents and other treatments etc.

Spoke to a friend who is using the same company in Yorkshire, they have quoted "£15 per quarter to renovate their lawn which entails aerating , scarifying & putting down fertliser" not a large garden granted but don't know how they are making money on this !Await to see the results with interest.
That doesnt sound right. The minimum charge for GT is £15 for the weed and feed quarterly for lawns up to and including 100 mtrs sq. Scarifying is usually about 4 times the weed and feed price, but they dont take the arisings away. Hollow tining is about 3 times the weed & feed rate, but they leave the cores on the ground.

I suspect your friend has had the basic quote for the weed & Feed, the others are chrged as extras.

I'm getting fed up looking after Greenthumb lawns. I have just three clients left (out of seventy three) who still use them and even now their lawns are still growing like crazy with too much soft lush growth for the time of year. I will not be taking on anymore clients who use them and if the existing clients are not prepared to either let me do the lawn treatment or have the lawns cut weekly I will seriously consider letting them go next season.
I am doing the same. Clients who have GT treatments will need to have the lawn cut weekly. It often surprises me how many customers put more emphasis on lawn treatments, than they do on a regular cutting regime.
