My sympathies to you Mark.

I've been lucky and I haven't caught flu for several years but I still remember the times when it did knock the wind out of my sails...it's not pleasant.

I hope full recovery happens soon.

thats not good news to hear mark, hope your up and fealing human again asap

I caught mine off a women so it was full strength ;-)

Mark,

Get well soon, keep loading the body with vitamin C...........

How'd you manage not to get the flu for years running Phil?  I got a bad cough this year, I was reluctant of taking any time off but I was getting nagged by family and some of my customers lol ..so I got myself to the docs.  Being ill is a pain.

Hope you get better soon Mark!

First couple of days work...easy work I'm very pleased to say..has kicked the  **** out of me a bit but still glad to  be earning. Amazing how feeble it leaves you I felt really strong and capable before this..now I have little wobbly legs me belt done up on it's tightest notch...

Going to be a hard start to the year but can't complain because I've got plenty of work to get through ;-)

Stay well everyone

Cheers

Mark

Hi Mark

I had to take complan three times a day for three months after a really nasty double dose of 'flu, -I know what you mean about the wobbly legs - try the chocolate complan for a week, it may just help.

  All the best

I hope your feeling better Mark.

What you have reminded us all in your salutary tale is that we are all vunerable to the whims of illness whether it be short term ( and I'm not demoting your ailment here at all) or a longer term and more serious illness.

You have reminded us that we totally rely on our health and fitness to be able to to work and earn ( in simplistic terms).

Q. How many of us have investigated or invested in temporary key worker loss cover, long term accident or illness insurance cover.

This is a subject that has been discussed before so you may wish to  do a search and read previous discussions.

As with many subjects there is no one answer that suits all, is or seems cost effective but it is a subject and a direction ( the insurance route) worthy of consideration as we aren't infallible machines but mere men and women ( well mere men:-)

Cheers for the prompt John I didn't like the ingredients list for complan but did pop into me local health food shop and got some Floradix....whether it's that or masses of food, and a wild new year where I fell asleep in the chair and was in bed by 10pm,  but I almost feel normal now, grateful for bank holiday tomorrow and then hopefully almost fit for work..phew what a relief !!

Prosperous & healthy 2012 to you all

Mark

Good news Mark,

The food supplements really helped me, I didn't read the ingredients as I was

just grateful for anything at the time, to get me through. I went back to work too early

and went down with a second dose of 'flu that almost killed me.

Three months later was still dragging myself around the gardens with

weak wobbly legs, I heard later from a nurse, that a secondry 'flu infection quite often causes ME,

   -  So make sure you don't overdo it in the next few weeks !!!
