Festive Thoughts
What with one thing and another, I have been AWOL from here for soooo long, so I thought this was an appropriate time of year to pop back in and wish everyone all the very, very best for 2012.
No matter what the coming year might throw at us, life is a rollercoaster ride and remember that for all the lows, there will be the wonderful highs. And every now and then, pause and take a little time to remember that the simple pleasures lie in
the glitter of sunlight on frosted spider webs
the smell of earth after rain
the feel of the sun on your back
the song of a blackbird at dusk
all the beauty and the wonder that springs from our labours and surrounds us as we, the priveledged caretakers and tenders of the natural world, go about our daily business
and the joy that the fruits of our care and tending brings to others
Remember too to rejoice in the love of friends and family, and in the connections that you make with people you have met and have yet to meet
the places you have been and have yet to go
the things you have done and are yet to do
Oh, and it's easy to forget sometimes, but we're the lucky ones who get to play outside all day!

I'm off to eat cake, make a mistletoe wig, and shake all the boxes under the tree. See you in 2012. By then I will be one year older and none the wiser...

The last time I saw you was just before you were off to Ikea with the Mrs. She must have bought one massive load of flat pack furniture for you to put together - were've you been?
