If they're in I'll knock on the door and ask them to pick it up as I'm a gardener, not a turd shoveller.

If they're not in I'll mow around it and post a note explaining the same.

  • tempted but..i dont mind picking up shite just as long as i get some extra dosh...

Had a similar situation so I mowed around it every week for about a month and left a message for them. No change, so spoke to Mrs who moaned about the large clumps of uncut grass all over her lawn, I explained that I wasn't prepared to use my mower under the circumstances but I offered to clear it up at double my rate or use their mower. She said use their mower, I did, as it was their dog's doo-doo I didn't clean the mower as thoroughly (it was disgusting!), hubby moaned about the smell in the garage, I told him the truth and from that point forth no more dog doo!

If I have a customer with the odd bit as fido went earlier the same day then I carry bags and a pooper scooper just in case but I do let the customer know.

Although I am a dog lover I have to remind myself that I am a gardener not a shite shoveler!
  • i was thinking 50p to a pound a turd... 5-10 pound a week better than a kick up the arse

Go with a pound. Or perhaps £5.00 a pound?;)

  • ask them to pick the shit up.

  • We have a couple of gardens that have dogs and the customers know to pick up the mess before we get there, otherwise we will do what we can, but wont pick it up. I take it the 'charge for it' posts are tongue in cheek.

  • If a client regularly fails to pick up dog mess I terminate the agreement. I won't touch dog mess at any charge, and expecting someone to work through it, strim it and get splattered on a regular basis is simply disrespectful.
