Does everybody use a diary?
I always buy a diary in about November each year with all good intentions of using it the following year,Then it gets to February and it ends up gathering dust on the shelf in the van,
I tend to keep everything in my brain, when i get to a job i remember what i have done the previous week and what needs doing on this visit,
I jot the odd note on a little clipboard pad on the dash but most of the time everything is from memory, Am i alone in doing this? does everybody else use a diary? Maybe you use IPads and Smart phones to keep organized?
I can appreciate that Landscapers and Designers would need to use a diary because of the nature of the jobs, but in maintenance I am generally visiting the same sites week after week with the odd one off job here and there.

I'd be lost without my diary, but I expect I'll have to become all modern and get used to a computer thingy!

All our work is on excel and I e-mail it to myself so I can pick up on the road.
I use a traffic light system so that I know what's due. Green means all OK, amber means due/materials to get, red means that work is over due. Sadly quite a few reds at the moment!
Other half likes paper records so I print it off for him.
We use to use a diary but the damn thing got opened so much it always fell to pieces by June!
Works well for me. I like having computer and paper back up just in case

Im an 'in the brain' er andy, allsorts swimming around in there, need to get in the diary habit though may take off a bit of pressure, quite often scribbling on old envelopes, and bit of important stuff! Im the same I buy one every year and never use it, probably a great habit to get into as ive been advised, although it depends on how simple of complexed you schedule is and how many employees you have..... or how full you can cope with you brain in my case!

seriously I wish I could get into the habit of using one, wish i'd used one from the beginning then it wouldn't be such an issue now.
