I believe you mean the waste classification code?

 

If so it 'should' be covered by 22-06-03 'Green waste' - tree trunks etc are technically different to the best of my knowledge.

Thanks Adam,

but i'm not sure that,s the one. I looked under "Green Waste" - no code. Its defiantly a SIC code that I'm after.

There 15600 business classifications. I've looked under Gardens, Grounds, Lawns, Agriculture - nothing that seems to cover me - maybe I'll have to give them a ring.

Also see note on same site: 
“Green waste” would normally comprise plant leaves and twigs and should be coded 22.06.03.  Ifit contains significant amounts of soil-where for example a site has been cleared by scraping offthe soil layer and vegetation, then it should be coded 22.06.05

I think I've found it - So if anyone is looking for there SIC code for garden & grounds maintenance its under the heading of landscaping and its 81300 (2007). Do you own research to make sure but that is what I'm putting down. Thanks again for your help Adam but I think we must be on about different codes.

Sic code relates to your business type and can be found on DOI website

Waste code defines the type of waste you are handling or transporting and can be found on EA website

Yeah, I've got to put that code on there as well. SIC code is some euro nonsense - maybe its being introduced here first?

I've created my own generic transfer note that has all the codes on I use. I just ring the one I need.

 

The codes I use are : Green waste 20 02 01    Rubble    17 01 01    Soil 02 04 01 Forestry Waste 02 01 07

 

Ironically my transfer station just book all my waste through as general waste.

This issue may have come to your attention because Companies House is adopting the updated SIC (2007) codes for annual returns lodged by companies with effect from 1 October 2011.  After that date, any annual returns showing the old SIC (2003) codes will be rejected.

 

I wouldn't know about the waste transfer notes but you have, at least, picked up the correct SIC code for your business.
