LJN is the busiest landscaping and horticulture site of its kind anywhere in the UK.
An awful lot of time goes into maintaining LJN and keeping it at the top of the search engine rankings to benefit its members. The site is free to use, the benefits are far reaching.
There are many members who have joined and never contributed to the site. There are many more members who give a lot of their time and experience helping others. I want to support the latter.
Over 400 dormant member accounts have been removed to date and I'm again in the process of sweeping through and deleting dormant accounts.
My view is, why should non-active members benefit from the site's strong SEO and business benefits if they are not prepared to give something back?
I will of course take a view but you need to participate to benefit.

Don't worry Nick...I know who might be dormant now but who have made a significant contribution in the past. I will not remove anyone if they've given something to the site in the past.
It's an ongoing process.
I'm still here- please don't delete me!

On the forum I administer we regularly "sweep" for dormant users. I delete the accounts of everyone who's not logged-on for more than two years, but don't delete their posts. We have thousands of people who never post, or incredibly rarely post, but who log in regularly purely to read the forums, and they don't get deleted.
You just need to avoid losing members who lurk on the forums, and are possibly learning masses of info they can later pass back to others. Often people don't get involved in discussions because they assume they know less that the prolific posters, which is a real shame.
hi im shy please dont delete me

Hi Paul
I take a similar view.
LJN is a valuable yet free resource but I have no desire to support anyone who doesn't wish to support LJN.

Permalink Reply by milo jackson on June 10, 2012 at 21:41 why dont you just charge a fee and get it over and done with rather than make people talk if they maybe dont want to im far too controversial and opinionated to start comenting on your excellent site xx
Fantastic resource.
As someone entering the 'business' I hope to be able to contribute one day soon. Am very appreciative Of all the advice and opinion that is helping me start out on the right foot.
Thanks

Me too! Sometimes a newbie question can lead to a discussion where even seasoned LJNers may see something from a new angle.
