cutting long grass banks / mounds

What way do you guys cut longer areas of grass on banks etc in a commercial setting. We use the etesia atilla rough cut ride on which leaves the grass .We did at start try and collect with different mower but found with the banks a "normal " collecting mower couldn't handle the rougher ground and they were getting to abused. We changed to not lifting .Last week one resident mentioned about the grass that lay afterwards.I pointed out that as it's a bank etc a normal mower doesn't cut as well as it would say a flatter area of ground .she seemed to understand. What way do you guys treat such areas ?

  • Sadly can't afford a rough cut mower mower powerful enough for hay long grass so just walk backwards with a brush cutter haha.
  • Just use the big brushcutter and then rake and blow it off
  • scag flail, it mulches up the stuff well enough to leave it, or blow to disperse.

  • Thanks .that's what I pretty much do
People expect alot .to me a bank or rougher piece of ground is something that shouldn't really be lifted esp if going to abuse machines.

A mulching mower is what I'd use, whether a flail or attila type. I think it's pretty unreasonable for people to expect a bank to look as good as a flat piece of ground, most ones around here maintained by the council are pretty much all weeds as they strim them right down to the ground so the weeds spring up.
