Well, I know times are 'ard and all that.  Have been looking at Gumtree and viva street and you cannot fail to see people hiring out gardening services.  A couple of adverts have really made me chuckle.  There was a company advertising on Gumtree as OCD Gardening (click into it they also do cleaning).  However this one http://services.vivastreet.co.uk/handyman+west-blatchington-bn3/the... I almost quite admire the guy for innovation!! Amazing

regards to materials they can always be deliverd. the reason why i run the business using a bike was firstly to have a usp it makes people stop and look rather then skimming down a page with loads of companys offering the same thing. the aim is to in the future drive an electric van and go around still being enviromentally friendly. regards to working in gardening for 6 years 4 of those was working for a landscape company and as for qualifications i have just finnished my horticulture level 2 and will do level 3 in 2012 because this year i want to porpergate and self learn like i did before i did the course. if you have any question please ask also no van means i have more income and hardly no outgoings

How do you manage with getting to your customers and are they within a very close proximity to each other? It certainly makes you stand out from the competition but seriously aren't you knackered? Welcome to Landscape Juice Network by the way - great to hear from you

Interesting - I can see how it cuts down on overheads meaning you can be competative - But I dont understand how you can offer a full service? On a typical Day I will need my 21" mower (Which is barely large enough for some of my lawns), Strimmer / Bruscutter, Long reach and hand held hedge trimmers. I take it you stick to smaller gardens while your starting up, or use your lower overheads to be competative on pricing?

downside its a hoover mower so not the best i do make sure that customers are aware of this. but the mad thing is i have contracts every month 12 months a year and they do have cylindar mowers there. the gardens that i do in brighton and hove do not have huge lawns. as for being tired i have played basketball for 12 years and play at least 3 times a week and dont smoke yes im tired but treat it like a trip to the gym eat well and get fit at the same time. the size of brighton and hove is not that big lets say from 1 end to the other is 7 miles it does not take that long to ride that distance it take about 40 mins

check my page if you have facebook http://www.facebook.com/pages/All-things-gardening/182089665164814

many pics the website im using i never upload pics becasue u have to upload through a website which i do not want to do

@ john its great to be part of this not justifying myself just explaining how the idear works thanx for the add would be good to speak with people working in what i love doing

Fairplay to him! he would struggle a bit where I live though to many hills!

Nice gardens your working on their. I think your experiences will be useful to all, especially ways you keep overheads down, as to whether or not they can be implemented by all, is upto each. If for one am keen to understand your business model.

yer seen them lol they use them for recyling companys in lewis district that could be a start

this topic i cant help but also comment i have seen some charging 5 pounds on gumtree an hour unbelievable.

spade and fork fits perfectly broom, hoes, saws all fit on there to just like the all in one power tools there are hand tools that do the same if it wasnt for the way the tools come apart to make them small i would not of started like this also i have explained the tools that i use to the 2 other companys in brighton that use and bike and a trailer they do not use the tools i use so that question is the same one i ask of them ive seen him with just a mower on the trailer maddness
