Hi all, i am new on here so please bear with me if i post in wrong place/ etc, its just something i have been pondering for a while. I want to know if it would be considered bad manners or pushy to contact a potential client for feedback from the estimate and brief plan i have sent. Over the past couple of months i have sent out a few of these and one or two i have put a few hours of work and ideas into, nothing fancy just enough as a basis for what we can achieve, pretty much all of my work comes from recommendation so i am honest and open about everything including a realistic budget ( most people do not like disclosing an amount i find ) this then has the added problem of how far you go in terms of cost, design, materials etc. In a nutshell what i am trying to establish is how do we get a client to disclose a realistic figure for what they want and after supplying our ideas and not hearing anything back is it rude to ask what they thought about it, good or bad, i think as we have put the effort in to site visit, spend a while pricing up and even sketching a plan we deserve to know what they though, any remarks on this would be appreciated, thanks Adrian

An example comment from my Own Farther the other day (quote from a different trade mind you) - I'll sit on it for a couple of weeks and see how I feel. - Many people quite right do this - just look at the quotes then leave it for a few weeks, then look again, see what ideas come into their head - also absorb and understand the costs involved.
I'd give a follow up call - you may get good feedback - even something along the lines of "its not what we were thinking" is great, you can then amend your quote to suit.
