I was reading an article about business landline sim cards. Does anyone know of how this works?

I need to get a new number for business and I need it diverted to my mobile due to my kids always being loud when the phone rings at home! Does anyone have any tips?

I provide a mobile number and a local call rate 0844 number.

The 0844 number is also diverted direct to my mobile

I encourage my customers to also text me as i am often doing jobs and cant answer the phone

I find it very useful to have all calls to my mobile as most caller numbers do show up and a return call can be made by me within a few minutes and the same applies to text messages, this also saves my customers money on call charges and with my mobile package of free calls, it costs me no extra.

my regular customers know that they can call my mobile, let it ring once and  hang up,  because i store their names i can return the call and have my diary ready to make any notes

I am not a great fan of 0844 numbers but have found that the choice of my email, text messages, 0844 and a mobile number seems to cater for all customers at the moment, and all this works direct from my mobile

My typical mobile total bill per month, for all this,  is £21

hope that helps some folks

thanks

Alan

Not sure if this will be of any help, but I use Usomo for my phone system, all online VOIP based, although is really a full blown hosted pbx in effect, although they also do a range of dedicated mobile options that may be worth you looking at.

I'd suggest that the hosted single line option would be ideal for your needs though, as it only costs a few ££'s a month for the basic setup, which includes a landline number of your choosing and either voip or traditional forwarding to either your home phone, SIP phone, or direct to your mobile (again either SIP or traditional line forwarding)

I have it setup with an automated voice greeting which then forwards to either my home, my mobile, or my answering service, or even all of them at the same time, and all while playing music or recordings while the caller is waiting for any answer, which for £3-4 per month is hard to beat IMO.

They are pretty helpful and easy to talk to should you have any problems with it as well.

Cheers

Alex

PS...No connection to Osomo other than as a satisfied customer!

I personaly have my home landline diverted to my mobile after about 6 rings! Saves me a lot of missed calls and lot less hastle. Im with the post office telephone service and costs me a connection fee of arround 13p per call!

Been looking at usumo.
That looks like exactly what i require. There are so many firms that offer this service. Makes you wonder if ALL of them are legit

Can't comment on other offerings as I've not tried them, I can say that the Usomo service works pretty well though, and I've been using it since last year and have no complaints or issues with it...damn...I should be on commission shouldn't I? :-)
