Not very constructive but any black grout i used way back when tiling was a torture, to do with the black die used in the powder, was always always a torture wether premixed or added interms of cleaning when applied etc. hope pointings compunds not the same  but if stone is porus it may be worth adding a sealant beofer pointing to prevent stone staining.

Thanks for the replies. Looks like the NCC stuff will be our option.

 

I even got thinking about using sbr and cement dye! Admitidly that Idea wasn't about long!
