How about this for starters. "Just watched episode 1, season 5 of The Sopranos". Now having a fag break and a chat with my Granddaughter on Skype then back to the settee for episode 2". Yawn !!

With Twitter, - just like any conversation, if you only talk about yourself, then you are boring, - however if you take part in a conversation and ask questions and answer them then -" just watched episode 1 of the sopranos" gives you something in common with other people that like that programme.
Like LJN twitter is all about building relationships, - and finding out information, - but you have a far larger reach than you ever could have through relationships on the ground, - that can be local or worldwide, - I would have thought that for someone with an internet business it was essential

I think a lot of people are ill informed, and the press doesn't help that, - don't forget that EVERYTHING you say can be found, - make sure you are doing it for your business and have fun, - - your welcome to follow me, @plantpassion, and i'll follow you back
I highly recommend this FREE no obligation checklist from a mentor of mine
FREE twitter checklist - (scroll down to the bottom and enter your email, - she never sells on your address and won't spam and is very quick to respond if you want to take your name off, although I think her business advice is great)
it will get you doing it the right way and teach you about etiquette.
Have fun

Hi Claire, I've got nothing against Twitter. I guess I may be guilty of having some ill informed opinions about it though. Perhaps I should have a look at it. Apart from signing up with a name (does one use one's own name ?), where do you suggest I should go from there to get a feel for it ?

Permalink Reply by Nicki Jackson on March 12, 2011 at 14:26 I do believe it's worth giving twitter a go. I tweeted the other day about the Lantra award I have won and then was invited on the local BBC radio station for a live interview about an hour ago. Nothing like being thrown into the deep end! If I didn't have a twitter account I and my business wouldn't have been able to get that exposure. So I would say, give it a try. If anyone wants to follow me I am @bluedaisyuk and I'll follow you back :)
